You Have A Choice
When it comes to building health, resolving unwanted health challenges or maintaining a current desired level of health, there is one truth everyone needs to consider. You can opt-in, by choice, to a self-care model or be forced-in to a disease-care model. There is no third option.
If you choose the latter, and do nothing your health will degrade at an accelerated rate and symptoms and ultimately disease are the outcome. The reasons are rather simple. First, modern life is stressful, 24/7 stressful for many. In such an environment the excessive production of adrenaline, cortisol and insulin will wear the body down without exception. Second, our environment is toxic and toxins accelerate aging, are often hormone disruptive, mutagenic and/or carcinogenic.
Radiation Exposure - Consider that over the past 80 years there have been over 2,000 documented nuclear detonations spreading radiation everywhere.
Man-Made Chemicals - Every year tens of thousands of man-made chemicals (toxins) are developed, patented and likely to reach market.
Genetically Modified Foods - Our food is being genetically modified with no long term studies unless you consider humanities exposure as one big experiment. Considering the current epidemic levels of chronic degenerative disease, I don’t see the outcome as positive for humanity.
Seed/Food Irradiation - Back in early 1900, the DoE Boys (Department of Energy) began irradiating seed stocks. Currently, almost all seeds and much of the food supply is irradiated as part of ensuring a more ‘safe’ (???) product.
Vaccinations - We have the excessive use of vaccinations where known toxins are injected directly into the body bypassing every natural defensive process. Did you know that when an infant is born for at least the first 6 weeks if not a few months their immune system is not present. The infant relies on immunity obtained from factors gained through a vaginal birth and breast feeding. Why infants receive vaccines at this age is ridiculous as their immune system is incapable of creating anti-bodies as it is not functioning.
EMFs - Electro Magnetic Pollution is a thing. Ask anyone that is ‘sensitive’. Exposure to EMFs can alter cellular function. Just because YOU can’t feel it, or is aware of it, does not mean it is not having an impact.
There is MORE, but I only have so much space and time to work with within this post.
The past hundred years has creating a living environment unlike anything humanity has ever experienced. While adaptation or micro-evolution to these factors is possible. The time-frame for exposure has been entirely too short to have an effect outside of a handful of genetic anomalies, or a purposeful gene manipulation across the population.
While the environment is toxic and getting worse, you still have the opportunity to make changes to your living environment to reduce exposure to many of these stressors. But it will require a choice and action.
If you do nothing, the above stressors will negatively harm your health. It is not a matter of if, rather when and how will it manifest in you. Considering this info, I imagine that most readers would prefer to take door number one and proactively engage in self-care.
This is the only logical choice I can see someone take unless they wish to express willful ignorance. Your body and life, in general, is a gift. It is not meant to be purposefully hard or thrown away.
The only question with taking on the self-care model is what model do you follow, what approach, whose protocols or therapies? I used Jack Lalanne to represent self-care because he chose to live a lifestyle that resulted in an incredibly healthful expression throughout his life. That said, this does not mean you should live exactly as he did or eat the same foods, exercise the same way and take the same supplements. Jack Lalanne found out what worked for him, for his unique biochemical individuality and supported those opportunities while eliminating or at least greatly reducing blocking factors.
Yes, it makes sense to opt-in to self-care. You just have to be mindful as to the appropriateness of that self-care model to your specific needs. The Health model I coach is based upon work of Reed Davis in Functional Diagnostic Nutrition® along with Paul Chek (lifestyle and movement), William Wolcott (Metabolic Typing®) and others.
A successful model does not treat the symptoms or the diagnosis directly. Rather it treats the individual manifesting them. It supports and balances the metabolic dysfunction, weaknesses and imbalances. As the body heals, the symptoms reduce, potentially to the degree that they are resolved entirely. True self-care is something you learn, something that you can sustain, and make course corrections to, so that you can All you then have to do is remain cognizant of the choices and opportunities that allowed you to manifest that new health so that you can maintain it for years if not decades to come.
